Spring has arrived

Now this is going to be my first real spring entry! I got seriously distracted by all this snow when I did the last one. Before the snow came back, spring definitely was happening. It was a nice and lovely 15°C outside for like 2 weeks straight, so definitely being outside-time! Going on little roadtrips, sitting on patios, hiking, biking... It really felt great.

The snow storm is gone now, and spring is back! The temperature is rising again to a spectacular ~5-10°C, which, at least for Canadians, means it is time to get out shorts and flip flops, no jacket required anymore. Yes, I find that a bit weird as well, but even I am considering to start wearing my new ballerina flats... And I did not wear a jacket the other day outside! At like 5°C! I guess that, at some point, you just really get used to the climatic conditions. The air is really really dry here, which doesn't let you feel the cold as bad as in more humid conditions. A little side effect of this is static, dry hair all the time and super dry skin, but you just learn to deal with it and ignore it.

A few weeks ago, we went on a little girls roadtrip to BC. We went to see the wolves and buffalo, had a look around Golden and stopped at a few nice corners on our way.

Also, I went on my first few rides with my new bike! Had my first flat tire as well... Well. Got it fixed for kinda cheap so all good. My friend Stephanie also got a bike and we went on a little tour in the middle of the night. That was kinda cool.

I also hiked up Tunnel Mountain again and this time I even made it to the top (just a little reminder of Danii and me trying to go up on the ice and clearly failing... See the video a few blog posts ago)!!

Tunnel Mountain Trail

It was an absolutely gorgeous day. Stephanie and me spent a lot of time taking pictures as well as videos (Stephanie) and just enjoyed the warmth and the exercise ;) Closer to the top, it was very windy and our hair was flying around like crazy, but still no need to wear a jacket!!! On top, the view was just amazing. You can see all over Bow Valley on one side and, on the other side, the view on Mt. Rundle as well as the Spray river is pretty nice as well.  I think if you really go for it, you just take like 45 min to hike up the 'Sleeping Buffalo' (that is it's original name) and enjoy this view!
I don't know how I'll every live without these mountains all around again! It's just a majestic view.

Also, there was a guy playing the bag pipes. Yes. He just went up Tunnel to play the bag pipes. That was really cool. And I spontaneously climbed a tree. Seems like I can't stop to randomly climb things... The view from that tree felt even more gorgeous than from down the tree ;) Plus Stephanie accidentally caught it on video! We finished that day up with a very very large smoothie. It was just a great day. Good company, a little exercise and a little treat at the end of the day. All good here in Banff :D

I did it!! Finally a proper spring entry ;) I must say I am quite proud of myself. And all this with the distraction of the fact that it is snowing again outside!!!!!
