Welcome to my travel blog!
My name is Anna and I've just returned home after living in Canada for one year! Me and Krissy, my travel mate, also traveled Western Canada and the US together. I hope you'll enjoy reading my stories!
Sooooo these were not the only trips I did! I was just really behind in sharing everything ;)
I also went to Bow Lake and Peyto Lake with Rica and Rasmus for a second time to see how these lakes look in winter!

Peyto Lake
While we were taking pictures of Peyto Lake we could see quite a big avalanche going down. A little reminder to always be aware of the dangers of mother nature.
Stupid tourists standing on the handrail ;)
Looking forward to meeting these guys again in Hawaii :)
As you can see, the weather was as good as it could get and I got a few pretty nice shots. The Canadian Rockies are just beautiful.
I also hiked the Fenlands Trail along to river arms of the Bow River. I played a bit with my camera and that's what came out of it:
Half frozen river arm
Only the sky is the limit
Sooooo. Now you really are up to date :) I hope you enjoyed the pictures!
There is more beautiful things coming as I am going to Hawaii in less than a week!!!
So I am off today - and what happens??? Of course. It is raining (8°C). Yes. You read that correctly.
All week, including yesterday, it has been dumping snow and I was excited. And in excited I mean really, really, really excited jumping around and freaking out. The white stuff - this is what I came here for and it's finally happening!!! All week there has been lots of snow and I couldn't go because of work (that almost brought me to tears) and the only day I finally can go, we have to turn around on the highway and come back because the road to Sunshine was closed and it was soooo damn icey. Later on, the road opened but I checked the webcams and it was also raining up the mountain, so not really worth the trip. So much for my nice powder day. And I was about to cry again (this time because I was just super furious). What is wrong with this shitty Canadian winter????
Ok this had to get out. This is all my frustration bundeled up in a few lines. Instead,
we went to the Buffalo Museum of First Nations. And it was very nice! A
bit of culture now and then does feel good! Not really an amazing
alternative to powder skiing, but in this shitty weather the best we
could do.
Update: This was 2 days ago. Yesterday I was in Norquay instructing and it was a nice sunny day :) Working on my goggle tan...
Otherwise, life actually is still great here (except for Danii leaving soon (i am so going to miss you!!!! Whom will I have breakfast with now and have all our very special funny/weird/random conversations??)). This is one great moment to remember:
This is me and Danii
trying to hike up Tunnel Mountain to see the sunset after the Chinook
week, where we had up to 9°C all week, all the snow melted and we were
stupid thinking it would be a great idea to hike up a mountain where
everything was blank ice. I watched this video already like 50 times and I am still laughing soooo hard every time. So it's ok if you found this funny ;)
And I started making plans for trips!!!! But let's talk about this later!
We did a few trips around the area again and I am totally behind sharing some pictures with you!!!
Me and Thea casually hanging out at an absolutely cool outdoor ice bar
At the ice festival in Lake Louise, we had a lot of fun watching the people who were building ice scultures as well as trying to ice skate without ice skates on the frozen lake. And at the bar, of course ;) My friend Stephanie did a video of the ice festival, so just check on her Youtube channel to see me elegantly ice skating without ice skates!!
Just check out her Vlog for the ice sculpture video as well as a the video where Thea, Stephanie and me have the most amazing conversation about tea and I am irritaded because Thea kept on filming me ;)
This day was also the day when I decided that I want to go on a trip to the Yukon and Alaska (with Stephanie and a whole bunch of other people)!! Exciting news :)))) Finally something to work towards too and I am already DYING in excitement and we are just going in May!!!
Furthermore, Danii, Maxime, Philipp and me took another trip to Lake Minnewanka und Two John Lake!
Red chairs
Casually hanging out in this amazing landscape
We do have our weird moments
Going retro
And guess what?? We found a ice cave! Of course Philipp and me, the little children had to crowl into the hole and out... ;)
Having a hard time getting out of the little cave
Philipp in the most comfy position imaginable ;)
So, these were my last few weeks! I hope you enjoyed the entry and the videos, a totally new feature!!! Thanks to Rasmus and Stephanie for providing this material!!!!
I am still working on translating my blog entries into German.... But as usual I am super busy. I am trying my best to get this done as fast as possible!!!
