Susi's visit to Banff!

Beginning of June my friend Susi from home (Munich) came to Canada for a visit!!! We went to school together and know each other already for quite a long time and I was so excited that she was coming to Banff! We had a heat wave without any rain before and of course, the second day she arrived Banff showed its nicest side: torrential rainfall. So we ended up at the movies... Saved the exploring for the next day.

Met this little guy!

The next day, the heat was back! We went on a little hike through Johnston Canyon anyway! We wanted to go to the Upper Falls and then back, but spontaneously decided on hiking all the way to the Ink Pots! What a great decision! See for yourself :) Although I have to question our mental health as we went for that 6km one-way hike on a hot day without water... Well. We were rewarded with beauty and had a little desperate water drinking session at the car after.

Don't ask how it took until there weren't any other people in this picture...

Of course, Lake Louise and Moraine Lake can't be missing on a sightseeing trip in Banff National Park! We made a big day out of this and went there on the same day. What beauties!! Unfortunately my camera battery gave up before Moraine Lake... This made me very very sad. Have a couple of pictures on my phone but they are not half as great... Leaves me without any super great photos of Moraine Lake... Well. Now it's a bit too late as I have to leave this beautiful country in less then a week. But this just means I need to come back for them!!

Also, we went on a little roadtrip to Kananaskis country to see Spray Lakes and just a bit of the beautiful forrest up there! Seeing all these pictures makes me realize again how long it'll be until I'll see all of this again! I've got so many memories! Home is where the heart is and I most definitely left a little piece of mine in the Rockies! Susi's visit was really great and I am glad I got to show her around!
